What 'liberals' were talking about secession in 2004?

Because I was living in California at the time, and I never heard one mention of it.
SECESSION Y’ALL: Why Texas Can Pull It Off. Secession is as dumb an idea now as it was when liberals were talking about it in 2004
Where's the link, Putz?

Actually when Putz writes about the limited Federal Government he is thinking of the Articles of Confederation which failed and were replaced.

I call bullshit as well. Besides, even if it were true, these rubes are talking about it left and right now.

My own interest in secession has nothing to do with who is running the country. I want to do it to stop paying for the rubes.

In Putz's defense, some liberals did talk of moving to Canada and Europe in 2004, but that's not what he's talking about.

I actually did find a link to what Putz thinks he was talking about, but he's an idiot:

I think he's referring to Second Vermont Republic which, while it might have been news in Vermont and the separatist haven to the North, didn't and still doesn't have many supporters.

There was (and still is) talk of Pima County seceding from the rest of Arizona, but that was a very different kind of thing. There was mention of Australia, then and now, and Australia responded in a smart way: making it possible for skilled workers to get one-year work visas.

Losing isn't good for the psyche, and the voters are usually a few years behind where I'd like them to be, but the desire to Be Left Alone is strong in all of us. We all don't want a government that fucks things up for us, but conservatives' concerns usually make me laugh when confronted with reality.

Even when Putz resorts to argument, he can't resist the Tu Quoque Fallacy.

I've heard of secession talk from liberals, but usually in the form of "can we just let the south secede for real this time? Just give me enough time to move up north."
