Great news for future mass murderers.

In the weeks after Newtown, Joe Scarborough kept insisting that the NRA and Republicans wouldn't dare block gun reforms because this latest mass shooting was different. That they would compromise because it was the right thing to do. That the deaths of all these children would get them to move off their ideological objections to even modest reforms.

Wrong again, Joe!

I don't think you can really fault Joe for being wrong this time; even he probably didn't realize what rapacious psychopaths his fellow republicans are.

Disagree. Any party that sends Ted Cruz and Rand Paul to the Senate isn't going to pass gun control legislation.

Texans are to blame for Ted Cruz being in the senate. You're blaming a pundit for something idiot politicians in his party are doing; are you going to blame someone like Krugman when that asshole Obama cuts social security?

We can certainly fault Scarborough for his obtuseness, both on this particular issue and in general.

However, while Republicans are definitely blocking even the most mild gun-control measures, I don't hear Democrats raising a major fuss over it. Perhaps that's just the usual hard-right leaning of the media that keeps those voices out of the public ear. But I'd sure like to hear about all the Democrats going on the radio, TV, and local newspaper op-ed pages to get the public riled up about this issue.

Enh, I'm not blaming Scarborough. I'm mocking his wrongness.
