If only everyone was required to carry a gun while mall shopping.

Absolutely awful.

Now, now, BT. This is not the time to talk about gun control. Just ask the pinheads at Faux Nooz.

Yeah, if only...

I've got a gun, I've carried it for self-defense, and in most of these public shootings I could only make things worse. This instance seems pretty quick, he shot two people pretty fast, shot himself, and it is done.

What could anyone with a gun do? Start shooting at each other? Get shot at by mall security and/or police when they show up and see idiots running around with drawn handguns?

On Friday, Aug. 31, 2012, this happened:

"The man suspected of killing two people early this morning at an Old Bridge, N.J., grocery store before shooting himself to death is a 23-year-old former Marine who worked at the grocery store for two weeks, according to the town's mayor.

"The suspect left the Old Bridge shopping plaza at about 4 a.m. and then returned to a Pathmark grocery store, having changed into camouflage clothing, Mayor Owen Henry said today. He was armed with an AK-47 and an automatic handgun when he entered the store, allegedly firing his weapon."

I watched the CBS and ABC evening newscasts that night and the incident was not mentioned on either program. This was the day after the GOP convention ended and Clint Eastwood had delivered his empty chair speech, but is that an excuse? Both shows did find time to show the little feel-good segments they love to end their broadcasts with.

So ABC and CBS got the word - shooting sprees are news only if time permits.
