Another entry in our series 'KJL is immediately made fun of by Cornerites'

Do you remember the days when Kathryn Jean Lopez would ask why people don't seem to believe that the Republican elites actually like their Evangelical supporters? Of course you do! We only posted about it a few hours ago!

The great thing about reading the Corner is that no matter how much you poke fun at their breath-taking incoherence, they'll start contradicting each other within hours, giving outsiders the impression that you're watching a kindergarten playground full of ADD-riddled Asperger's patients.

That's right. It took Freddoso, a fellow Cornerite, almost eight hours to openly make fun of KJL's claim about double standards regarding the perception of how Republicans treat their Evangelical base: "President Bush has accomplished a great deal for pro-lifers [...] I just wonder why he doesn't like to be seen with us."

I sure do wonder if - like pretty much the entire Republican leadership - Bush thinks that the rabid pro-life / pro-Rapture crowd is a massive public liability.

Would that perhaps answer your earlier question about "double standards," Kathryn?

Nah. It couldn't be that easy.
