During a debate over whether the country is engaging in too many wars, outspoken conservative Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) made the case that the United States was on the doorstep of victory in Vietnam but gave up.
“Vietnam was winnable, but people in Washington decided we would not win it,” Gohmert said.

I wonder what planet Gohmert lives on? 'Cause The Nam wasn't winnable by the U.S. on THIS planet.
I agree with the bathroom cleaning guy BT.
Does Louie know who was in charge when we gave up on Nam? It was those stinking liberals Nick Dixon, or was it Dick Nixon, and Henry "I'm banging Jill St. John and Nixon ain't" Kissinger. Does Louie have to remind himself to breathe before every breath, or does he have an aide for that?
At least we know that Louie managed to remember the plot of First Blood, Rambo Part One. That raises my estimate of his intelligence from "amoeba" to "small rodent".
It came out in 2005, but still the definitive answer to Louis Gohmert's assertion; "Sir, No Sir!." The film showed conclusively why victory was impossible, the military machine was hopelessly broken.
