I have always maintained that Obama is the best republican president this county has had since Ike.
Well, he is a moderate Republican, but I just can't see Obama spending money on necessary infrastructure like Ike did.
Nah, I'm pretty sure the true Teahadists would hate Ike too - he was a commie sympathizer after all; just ask any John Birch Society member from back in the day...
Also, willf, Obama has said repeatedly that we should spend on infrastructure but the rethuglicans in congress won't have any of that.

Yeah, if only we had both houses of congress and the presidency. Then Obama would finally act like the secret progressive that everyone (except the man himself) knows him to be.

Ike was the proto-RINO. It's been downhill ever since (except for St. Reagan and Cmdr Codpiece).
The old name for the Tea Party guys was "John Birch Society." And the Birchers thought Ike was a commie. So when Obama says he's just like Ike, the Tea Party guys say "Aha!!! I knew it all along."
