"No one reading this can imagine strolling into an elementary school and opening fire on a bunch of small children. You can't imagine even wanting to."
Uh, yeah, no kidding. Why in the world is her first impulse to try and imagine herself as the killer? What a strange and horrible person she is.
You really should have tried reading to the end, just to see McMegan's brilliant solution:
"I'd also like us to encourage people to gang rush shooters, rather than following their instincts to hide; if we drilled it into young people that the correct thing to do is for everyone to instantly run at the guy with the gun, these sorts of mass shootings would be less deadly, because even a guy with a very powerful weapon can be brought down by 8-12 unarmed bodies piling on him at once. Would it work? Would people do it? I have no idea; all I can say is that both these things would be more effective than banning rifles with pistol grips."
Well, it is an original idea. Stupid and callous, but original.
Young people. She's talking about kindergartners here. McArdle is just evil and stupid. They fired half the Newsweek staff and they kept her? These people are psychopaths.
Rather than make it illegal for immature, insecure, paranoid, micro-penis motherfuckers to have military grade weapons, we should train kinder-gardeners to do a gang rush.
Hey! We can make it into a fun game! Should they drill before or after nap time? Will they take turns being "it"?
The first thing McArdle would do if confronted by a gunman would be to piss in her pants. She'd also offer everyone else up as a target in exchange for her useless life. She'd be the last person to try and protect a child considering she's suggesting that children should rush a gunman, thereby essentially acting as shields. If adults rarely rush a shooter why should children?
It just pisses me off that children died who had the potential to do great things and we're left with useless assholes like McArdle, Huckabee, Reynolds, Cheney, etc.
The monstrousness of the idea obscures the idiocy of it. Megan writes like someone--and probably IS someone--who has never taught a 6-year-old anything. These are children who have recently learned to tie their shoes. And she's proposing teaching them to master and overcome every person's most basic instinct (flight from death) to run AT the bad man with the gun.
Well, she's a libertarian, after all. She's used to living in an imaginary world.

I couldn't get past the first paragraph:

"Yo! Bum rush the assault rifle!"

Pure genius.

This is what weapons-grade stupid does to a topic--comes up with insanely idiotic ideas.
It says everything about the current state of the media that she is paid to do anything more than lick toilet bowls clean with her tongue.

Victoria Soto gave her life to ensure the survival of children, whereas Mega McArdle would sacrifice those children to save her own skin.
