THE TROOPS USED TO BE HEROES. Then the media made them victims. Now it's making them evil, like the hordes of "Jenjis Khan." This will make betraying them more palatable.

Look, it's really this simple: if TNR ran a made up a story, they'll deservedly catch hell. But one, Putz and the gang don't have the best track record for spotting fakes (see Hussein, Jamil). And two, if it's true, how about directing a teensy weensy little bit of that outrage at the criminals who defiled their uniforms?

This bizarre notion that American war crimes are to be covered up or whitewashed in the service of the Great Patriotic War is -- it should not have to be pointed out to these little children -- decidedly un-American.
