Yeah, that's the ticket!

Do you remember the Jon Lovitz/SNL character "Tommy Flanagan, the Pathological Liar"? He would show up on "Weekend Update" and lie about stuff and claim he was married to Morgan Fairchild. He sounded a lot like this.

Back when we talked to Ken Mehlman last spring the GOP seemed to be out of touch and in denial. And that was before the elections.

Somehow, I don't recall Putz asking Ken Mehlman about the GOP being "out of touch" and "in denial." On the contrary, he said that Mehlman was "responding gamely" to his questions about the Bush Adminstration, which mostly consisted of softballs like these:

The economy is certainly better than you'd think from watching the news. How are you going to address that in the next few months?

Yeah, out of touch. In denial. That's the ticket.
