Linus and FISA.

Now that the Bushies have admitted that their circumvention of FISA wasn't necessary at all, and have discontinued the program, the wingers who rushed to defend them and viciously attacked critics must be feeling mighty silly today.

I wonder what people like Hew Hughitt is thinking now? On 12/20/05 he wrote,
I have to believe these are people of good faith who simply have no experience in the world, who simply have no idea what we are up against. It was the same way in the '80s, when the nature of the Soviet Union was not understood by the left...They are not serious in that they will not allow their carefully constructed world views to be disturbed by reality, no matter how ghastly the reality that knocks at their front door. 9/11, Bali, Beslan, Madrid, Zarqawi etc --nothing matters to them except their own convictions about President Bush.
I look forward to Hew Hughitt's forthcoming column about how naive President Bush and Alberto Gonzales are, and how they aren't serious and don't understand the dire threat facing our country.

Putz cites Michelle Malkin, who writes

"Bush administration = Lucy. Bush administration defenders = Charlie Brown. Argh."

I think Linus is a much better fit for Bush apologists.
