Zero Dark Thirty

Finally saw it yesterday. If the filmmakers set out to create a post hoc apologia for the Bush administration's torture and renditions after 9/11, they succeeded brilliantly. Just a horribly lazy movie that's nonetheless extremely entertaining.

I don't know why some saw it differently, but to me it was clear: the incredibly sexy and likable heroine engages in torture and gets bin Laden. Not much nuance in that. It also bugged me that the legality of torture was reduced to "politics" by the Jason Clarke character.

A more detailed critique of the film is here.
