Tbogg, My Kind of Feminist.

Saith T:

Yes there are cute young girls out there who are against abortion and, God willing and the condom doesn't break, they are fully committed to never ever ever having an abortion. Right now. This minute. While they march.

Which is a far cry from the moment when a little blue cross (and, no, it's not a sign that you are carrying Our Savior 2.0) shows up on the e.p.t stick. Because, unless it is a planned pregnancy, somehow that moment isn't going to feel anything like that day when you were walking in the sun, holding a banner, and feeling remarkably virtuous and closer to God. It is at that moment when the phrase "women deserve better than abortion" becomes "women deserve the right to decide what comes next".

That's called "choice" and a lot of people have fought so that you could have it even though you think you'll never need it.

And, hard as this is to believe right now, this minute, the day may come when you realize that life is not about what you think you "deserve", but about having the option to get what you need.
