Putz on March 21, 2006, gloating about how well the war was going:
I should also note that despite predictions of 50,000 casualties in the initial invasion, three years later we're at less than 5% of that. And U.S. casualties are falling as Iraqis pick up the load.
Total US casualties in Iraq to date (10/10/07): 31,573. I don't think 31,573 is "less than 5%" of 50,000. More like 63%.

And naturally, casualties increased in 2007.

And of course, the "prediction," supposedly from Gary Hart, turned out to be from some anonymous commenter.
