It Appears We've Hit the Bottom of the Gene Pool...

Hugh Hewitt links to a dispatch from Michael Totten, who, Hugh says, "writes on some reasons to suspect the surge isn't all its [sic] cracked up to be."

Whoa!

So far, two of Hugh's readers have decided that Michael Totten, by reporting that The Surge is not the Bestest Thing Ever, has shown himself to be a goddamn liar.

I don't have time to do this with this story, but I'd bet some of the "facts" are overstated, or some other equally important facts are missing from this account. I'll "grimly" go on reporting the surge is working well, until I hear otherwise from the multitudinous Mil Blogs who are carrying success story after success story.

Michael Totten is still part of the MSM [WTF??? -- ed.] that refuses to print any unqualified compliments about anything that might show George Bush in a favorable light.

His stories may pass HH's "smell test"; but not mine. Al Qaeda has reporters embedded with "the troops", too--so being there is no defense. Bad news sells better than good, so that's what he offers.

Remember, guys. First pants, then shoes.
