Althouse leaps to Putz's defense after that meanie Glenn Greenwald makes fun of him.

I can't figure out what the funniest thing is about Althouse's hysterical defense of Putz re: Greenwald's most excellent smackdown. But I think I'm going to go with the fact that she asks,
"Can someone explain why leaning left causes verbosity?"
...in a post that's almost two thousand words long.

A close second is this:
He mocks Glenn Reynolds for talking about what a geek he is, but self-examination and self-deprecation are good -- and are not evidence of someone with a "pervasive and insecure craving for artificial masculinity [that] supplants rational and substantive political considerations."
No, Ann. That's not why Greenwald mocks Putz.

Once again, since you apparently didn't get it -- Greenwald mocks Putz for endlessly prattling on and on about what a nation of emasculated wimps we are, how young boys really need to read "The Dangerous Book" so they can avoid said emasculation, how we should be bombing more countries and torturing more people and killing Iranian civilians so we can "shake up" the entire Middle East --- all while playing pretend astronaut and reading the latest medieval fantasy dungeons and dragons novel from the cozy comfort of his rural Tennessee toy room.

And that's worthy of mockery.
