It Could, But It Won't.

Putz:

DO HILLARY AND OBAMA LOVE GRAVEL AND KUCINICH?

By making Gravel and Kucinich the designated villains of the debate, Obama and Hillary never have to engage and disagree strongly with a more liberal candidate with an actual base of support - somebody like John Edwards. It's risk-free verbal sparring.

Trouble is, with Gravel achieving rock-star status among the netroots, this could backfire.

To be blunt, is there any evidence that the netroots -- never mind the monolithic Left -- give a shit about Gravel? I mean, aside from this way enthusiastic plug from Atrios, what else is there? Ah, yes, this guy who says that he wouldda voted for Gravel, you see, but for an appearance on Glenn Beck.

Yeah, we're totally invested in this guy!

UPDATE: Now it makes sense! Putz must've read this, and figured that The Hon. Dr. St. Rev. Bradley S. Rocket, Esq, PhD, MD's "man-crush" was code for "widespread netroots support."

But hey, I'm willing to accept consider other explanations.
