Planned Parenthood is really popular.

While I agree with Amanda's sentiments here, I don't think the Komen thing "blew up" because they were dishonest about their reasons for pulling the plug on Planned Parenthood.

If they had come right out and said, "We're cutting ties to PP because they provide abortions" the reaction would have been equally swift and furious.
