Shit, what was this column supposed to be about?

So picture Mona Charen pounding out her 800 words of dreck twenty minutes before her deadline. Having already concocted a snappy title ("Democrats are the French Party" Ha ha ha! Fuck France! Everyone hates them!) and spent 750 words bitching about France, you suddenly realize that your title promised an article that was at least loosely about how the French are like Democrats and vice-versa. So you quickly append this as the final paragraph of your column to rectify the fact that you got so carried away in the giddy joy of mocking France:
What Democrats have most to fear is that American voters will perceive that, indignant denials notwithstanding, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, Barney Frank, Patty Murray, Joe Sestak, Barbara Boxer, Jerry Brown and the Democratic Party, in general, are indistinguishable from the socialist parties of Europe.
Phew! Crisis averted!

I'm not kidding, folks. That is the column. That is her point.
