I don’t really know what to say anymore, beyond the fact that I wouldn’t have thought Barack Obama coming into office and implementing more sensible policies would end up with the idea of a full-bore civilizational struggle against Islam moving closer to the American mainstream.

As I noted in comments, hasn't Obama augmented the Bush/Cheney War on Terror?
