The pattern here is predictable (remember the "let's kill Iran's nuclear scientists" post?): Putz says something really wingnutty and stupid, serious commentators note its wingnutty stupidity -- then Putz gets pissy and defensive.

Well, I was hoping for a thoughtful email from an expert, but instead I got a typically intemperate blog post from Bruce Bartlett. Bruce, I’m not trying to turn the United States into Zimbabwe. That would be the guy in the White House, whom you seem surprisingly anxious to defend.

Note: no factual rebuttals for Bartlett. Just lame, pissy whining -- to go with the suggestion that Obama wants to turn America into a third world African nation.
