Putz Flashback.

According to Glenn Reynolds, the word "racist" has lost all meaning. He'd like that, I suppose, since we and our pals would have to find new ways to describe Stacy McCain.

Putz is to be commended on his modesty. There is, after all, no one more adept at draining the life from the English language. 2005 in particular was what scholars will one day call "The Merriam Webster Massacre":

When Ted Kennedy can make an absurd and borderline-traitorous speech on the war, when Michael Moore shares a VIP box with the last Democratic President but one, when Barbara Boxer endorses a Democratic consultant/blogger whose view of American casualties in Iraq is “screw ‘em,” well, this is the authentic face of the Left. Or what remains of it.

There was a time when the Left opposed fascism and supported democracy, when it wasn’t a seething-yet-shrinking mass of self-hatred and idiocy. That day is long past, and the moral and intellectual decay of the Left is far gone.

Funny story: Kennedy was no traitor (just goddamn right) and The Left was, and is, still a big fan of democracy (we just don't believe in killing people to impose it).

As for Michael Moore -- well, he's still fat but is now clean-shaven.

From your link:

If Kerry had won, would it be understandable for Republican artists to perform in front of swastikas?

Oops.
