Jeremy Lott writes stupid things for money, which is, admittedly, a nice racket. For example:

When he ran for president, George W. Bush promised to be a modest reformer at home and a humble representative of the United States on the world stage. The Al Qaeda-organized-and-funded terrorist attacks of eight years ago changed all that.

Ah yes. I remember it well! September 11, 2001 totally forced President Bush to do things he did not want to do, like spearhead a needless trillion dollar tax cut for the rich (several months earlier) and push for the privatization of Social Security (four and a half years later).
