The more I look at what passes punditry on the Internet, the more I realize that a great number of the self-appointed pundits are mere parasites. Their relationship to real journalists is that of a tick to a dog.The fattest, most engorged tick of them all is Glenn Reynolds, the self-proclaimed "Instapundit."
As the name implies, Reynolds endorses the theory that in the era of the Internet anyone can provide political commentary instantly, i.e. without benefit of reflection, experience or knowledge.
There's no doubt this can be done. But why do it?
