You can always rely on Putz, though.
Point one: Which troops or economic sanctions does Putz believe are at the disposal of the "human rights community?" What soldiers can Amnesty International or the Human Rights Watch send to Zimbabwe to rein in Mugabe? And isn't one of the top stories leading the Amnesty International website right now all about how bad Zimbabwe is and that something needs to be done? (Searching for Zimbabwe there results in 688 hits - someone should have been paying attention. What about the HRW, then? Oh. 3870 hits.)"More on Zimbabwe: The silence of the world grows deafening as Robert Mugabe mercilessly crushes those who dare to oppose him."
The "human rights" community once again fails to rein in a real killer. Their impotence where it matters perhaps accounts for their stridency where it doesn't.
Point two: The linked article says that Condi Rice is pressing the UN to take action. Waitwhahuh? The UN? Action? Haven't we made it through seven years of Putz comments suggesting the UN is useless for dealing with rogue states? Isn't established Putz wisdom telling us that only America can build the sort of coalition of the willing dealing with this type of killer?
Point three: The linked article also quotes Mugabean opposition as saying that "the US and Britain must act to remove the white-knuckle grip of Mugabe’s suicidal reign."
But wait. So it's Bush and Brown who need to be taking action, but aren't? Yet Putz's comment in his article linkage says that it proves the "impotence where it matters" of those who aren't doing anything?
It's official: Glenn Reynolds says that George W. Bush is impotent.
Heh.
