"Dead Cat Bounce."

Definition:
Temporary recovery from a prolonged decline or bear market, after which the market continues to fall.

Usage:
"Obama's in trouble," says Taylor Marsh, who neglects to mention that Senator Clinton's likely West Virginia and Kentucky victories are a dead cat bounce: The Senator is down 20 in Oregon, a fact Ms. Marsh curiously elides.
