Maybe She's Kidding. It's So Hard to Tell These Days.

Althouse is having one of those charming delusions of grandeur:

Writing before dawn, I keep my eye on the Manhattan skyline. I've been watching the effect of the sun on those reflective buildings for months. I've taken a lot of photographs of the same buildings, but — like Claude Monet looking at the Rouen cathedral — I keep thinking now, the light makes it different.


I'm told Monet lacked the sophistication to truly appreciate the subtleties of American Idol.
