Glenn Reynolds and Michelle Malkin: any comment about the war is an attack on the troops.

Any remaining doubt you had that Bush supporters use the troops as political pawns should now be completely dispelled:
AIRBRUSHING REPORTED at Charles Schumer's website. Apparently, he's reconsidered his comments about the troops, and hopes people will forget them. (More here).
Schumer's "comments about the troops" weren't. It was about the effectiveness of the surge. This is an obscene distortion, even for Putz.

Don't support the surge? You're not supporting the troops.
Question whether the surge is working? You're attacking the troops.

The anti-war left was wrong to politicize the troops during the Vietnam era. There will be a price to pay for the Bush-following right for doing exactly the same thing now.

Tell Putz to stop exploiting the troops.

UPDATE

Matthew Dowd writes,
The public does not see withdrawal from Iraq as a signal America doesn't support the troops. In fact, the public sees removing the troops from harm's way and having them in a place where the mission is supported, welcomed and understood as the most proper way to support our troops.
But not so for Bush dead-enders like Malkin and Putz.
