Nearly three months ago, I e-mailed BT and asked, "Is it possible that Fred Thompson isn't running?" "Nope," he said.

I still have my doubts, for what it's worth -- regardless of what his mom says. Mainly it comes down to this: Is there compelling evidence that Thompson really wants to give up his posh, sedentary existence?

I don't think so.

...What do you guys think? Is this a nutty idea?
