The Fraud

My favorite CPA has begun a momentous effort, cataloging the "Seven Deadly Blogging Sinners." Atlas Pam (absconding as we speak with her fake eyelashes/breasts to Argentina... yippee!) got slagged first, followed by Roger L. Simon. Simon, observes Dennis,

is the personification of all that is fraudulent about the political blogosphere. Because so many of the top bloggers seem to live in some sort of hermetically sealed World Of Their Own, they seem to have not noticed - or chosen to ignore - the fact that much of the heady promise of the political blogosphere as an irresistible agent of change - especially "for the good" - has turned out to be just so much hype. Most of us have noted it and corrected our view of the blogosphere accordingly, but for The Frauds any suggestion that their power is largely illusory, or that their actions smack of hypocrisy, draws the most childish of all reactions… A miffed, scornful silence. Nothing must disturb their universe… Especially reality.

Indeedy! Exhibit A is Roger's latest post, re: Jerome Armstrong's SEC troubles: "[Armstrong] owes us all a complete and thorough explanation of how this came to be. Otherwise, he might as well quit blogging. He and his integrity are toast."

Oh, white man... Armstrong owes me nothing. But, in the spirit of comity, you first, pal. A year and half ago, Simon called for a boycott of Google. (Note: This was prior to feeling "honor bound" to take Google's $) This lasted about three seconds. Still, wonders Dennis, "Who could have imagined that within a year of calling for such a boycott, Pajamas Media would be deriving a significant portion (if not all) of its' revenues from a commercial venture with Google itself?"

The answer is, anyone with half a pulse! All it took was five minutes of Simon's Church Lady act to see the ruse . That he was and is a fraud was always quite obvious. So obvious, remember, that Ann Althouse -- she of vaginal plant blogging -- was smart enough not to sell her mediocre wares to Pajamas Media. So, yes, Roger. Let's talk about integrity. In the meantime, watch Nathan Rabin -- who's a goddamn trooper -- give Roger's masterwork more respect than it deserves.
