The last word on the Obama/Hillary debate.

I have to agree with Bob Scheer, who last week on Left, Right & Center said that the whole Obama/Hillary disagreement over diplomacy said a lot more about Hillary than Obama. What I find particularly distasteful and counterproductive about Hillary's attack is that she used a Republican frame: liberals are useful idiots who allow themselves to be manipulated by dictators, they're naive, they're bad at foreign policy, they're weak, etc. Scheer called it "red baiting."

This is another big difference between Democrats and Republicans. Republicans almost never do this -- they typically (wisely) avoid employing the same kinds of attacks they get from the left. Democrats do it all the time (see Richardson's comment about taxes the other day), much to their detriment.
