Perspective on President Mitt

From the latest ABC News/Washington Post poll: "If the 2008 Republican presidential primary or caucus in your state were being held today, for whom would you vote?"

Giuliani, 32

McCain, 19

Thompson, 11

Gingrich, 9

Romney, 9

Bear in mind, the poll was taken well after the GOP debate, which Romney supposedly dominated. Let's be realistic: he's polling worse than a guy who hasn't even declared. (And his numbers haven't improved since January.)

It's nice if you believe that "the public face of the Republican Party will be an amalgam of Fred Thompson, Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani," but so far there's no indication that this is so.

Sometimes I wonder of these guys forget that wishes are not actually horses.
