Loony conspiracy theories.

As Atrios said, they're all Birchers now.
AL-MASRI JOINS ZARQAWI. And there's some interesting history on when he entered Iraq: "He probably entered Iraq in 2002, before al-Zarqawi, and may have helped establish the first al-Qaida cell in the Baghdad area." Pre-invasion? But I thought Saddam and Al Qaeda had nothing to do with each other. . . .
This link is to the ever-credible Gateway Pundit, who last we checked, was busy counting naughty words. What's got Gateway so giddy today is this passage in a Guardian article, which reads (emphasis mine):

Security experts say he [Al-Masari] became a terrorist in 1982 when he joined Ayman al-Zawahiri's Egyptian Islamic Jihad. He probably entered Iraq in 2002, before al-Zarqawi, and may have helped establish the first al-Qaida cell in the Baghdad area.

Wow! This is HUGE news! He probably, may have done...something with al Qaeda!

Says Gateway (emphasis his):

This is great news for the Free World and horrific news for democrats...
Not only does this show the Iraqis assisting with the security of their young democracy but it brings to the surface the fact that Al Qaeda was operating in Iraq before the US invasion!

Damn right! Take that democrats, who aren't part of the Free World!!!11!!

Two quick questions, though, for Putz and Gateway: (1) Do you know what "may have" and "probably" mean? And (2), since Mohammed Atta was operating in the US in 2001 does that mean al Qaeda had ties to George W. Bush?

UPDATE

Heh.
