Is Don Surber a credible source on anything?

Putz's new favorite go-to link for attacks on Democrats is the partisan nobody Don Surber. He's been a columnist at a third-rate paper in media market smaller than most college football stadiums for 20 years.

Here's why he says he blogs:
In February 2005, Rosie O’Donnell started her blog. I figured if she could, I could, so I started a blog, donsurber.blogspot.com, so I could comment on more breaking news.
Take that Rosie!

But these modest credentials don't matter at all to Putz. To him, Surber is just a reliable source of shallow, poorly written attacks on any and all Democrats. Today, Surber asks,
"It is important to remember that Reid voted for this war, when that was popular. Now that it is unpopular, he seeks to shrug it as if it were last year’s hot new dance craze. . . . What sort of tree do you plant as penance for turning your back on 24 million people?"
Brilliant, yes?

Dear Don:

1) Reid absolutely did not vote for this war almost five years ago in 2002. No one did. He voted to authorize the President to disarm Saddam Hussein, based on faulty evidence manipulated by the Bush Administration. This war a civil war between Sunni and Shia.

Said George Bush in March 2003:
Iraq is a part of the war on terror. Iraq is a country that has got terrorist ties. It's a country with wealth. It's a country that trains terrorists, a country that could arm terrorists. And our fellow Americans must understand in this new war against terror, that we not only must chase down al Qaeda terrorists, we must deal with weapons of mass destruction, as well.
It was all wrong. This isn't the war Reid voted for, or anyone else for that matter.

2) Why do you think the war is "unpopular"? And don't you think this disconnect between why the American people initially supported it and why they don't know has something to do with the President's discredited justifications for the war, his subsequent incompetent prosecution of the war (which Republicans ignored), and the civil war that ensued as a result?

3) Why do you think Harry Reid is majority leader and not Mitch McConnell?

4) Since you have such a deep, heartfelt concern for the Iraqi people I'm sure you'll support our withdrawal from Iraq in the next six months because that's what 71% of them want.

5) There hasn't been a "hot new dance craze" since the Macarena.
