The nonpartisan cherry-picks poll numbers.

This looks bad for the Democrats, right? (updated below)
GEE, I WONDER WHY? Congressional job approval is sinking. And it's already lower than Bush's.
But this is what Putz should have written, were he an actual truth-telling nonpartisan.
CONGRESSIONAL JOB APPROVAL has dropped this month in the Gallup, but holding steady in all the other polls. And it's already lower than Bush's in the Gallup, but still above Bush's everywhere else. Gee, I wonder why?
See, what Putz doesn't mention is if you look at more than just the Gallup Poll, to which the Powerline post Putz links refers, a totally different picture emerges.

Congressional Approval

CBS/New York Times

3/11: 31%
2/23: 33%
2/8: 32%
1/18: 33%
--
10/27: 29%
10/5: 27%
9/15: 25%

AP

3/5: 33%
2/5: 34%
1/16: 34%
1/8: 32%
--
12/4: 27%
11/13: 26%
10/25: 25%

NBC

3/7: 31%
--
10/13: 16%

Unlike Gallup, which showed a 9-point drop for Congress in a single month (which seems to be an anomaly based on the other polls), the CBS, AP and NBC polls exhibit the same two trends since the Democrats took control: Congressional approval is holding within the margin of error and they are substantially higher than before the new session.

In addition, Bush's latest approval rating (from Newsweek) is 30%, lower than all three of the above Congressional polls. But not in Putzland, where Bush is more popular than the tanking Democratic Congress.

UPDATE

And the lie is repeated.
Meanwhile, Orin Kerr thinks that Bush shouldn't want a showdown with Congress. I'm not so sure. It'll fire up his base, and Congress is polling even worse than he is.
If he posts it again, maybe it'll come true!
