I was reading Greenwald's hilarious analysis of the phony machismo that permeates the "conservative" movement, and was reminded of John Podhoretz's now forgotten, now even more ridiculous sounding book, Bush Country: How Dubya Became A Great President While Driving Liberals Insane.
