The pointing and shrieking at Barbara Boxer.

I notice Putz and various other wingnuttery (and even Sully, who I usually like) are all pointing and shrieking at Barbara Boxer for noting that Condi Rice doesn't have kids.

Just wondering -- where was this uproar when Laura Bush said the same thing?

"Dr. Rice, who I think would be a really good candidate (for President), is not interested. Probably because she is single, her parents are no longer living, she's an only child. You need a very supportive family and supportive friends to have this job."

So to recap: it's perfectly fine to disqualify Condi from the presidency because she's single. But it's completely beyond the pale to point out that it's hell of a lot easier for her to send 21,000 more kids in the middle of a civil war when she doesn't have any among them.

No one does phony outrage like the right.
