John Boehner owes the troops an apology.

Where is Putz's outrage over the Republican Speaker of the House blaming the troops for the ongoing disaster in Iraq?
House Majority Leader John Boehner's call for critics to lay off Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld because the generals are responsible for the conduct of the war in Iraq has sparked outrage among Democrats.

In an interview Wednesday on CNN, Boehner said, "Let's not blame what's happening in Iraq on Rumsfeld."

CNN's Wolf Blitzer replied, "But he's in charge of the military."

"The fact is, the generals on the ground are in charge, and he works closely with them and the president," Boehner, an Ohio Republican, said.

So blame the generals, Boehner says. Unbelievable. Unlike the Kerry incident, this wasn't a botched joke. Boehner just called Rumsfeld "the best thing to happen to the Pentagon in 25 years." Is anyone ever accountable for anything in Bush's GOP? Ever? I'm sure they're fitting Rummy for a Presidential Medal of Freedom.

Prediction: Boehner will not apologize, as Rush Limbaugh did not apologize, as George W. Bush did not apologize for any number of tasteless gaffes. Conservatives never do.

Kerry, like Durbin, should've never apologized for something he did not say. His first response was correct. When will the Democrats learn?
