Success!!!!!1!11!!!

Putz uses a CIA announcement by Michael Hayden to take passive-aggressive cheap shots at .... someone... about the Plame affair.
THE CIA REPORTS SUCCESS:

More than 5,000 terrorists have been captured or killed in the five years since the 9/ll attacks, CIA director Gen. Michael Hayden said today.

They were regarded as highly credible during the Plame affair, but presumably their fans there won't be as accepting of this news.
Speaking of their "fans", is this the CIA you called "beyond repair", Putz? Or the CIA that contains a faction out to get the Bush administration? Or the CIA that had the DoD investigate the Valerie Plame outing solely to embarass Bush, since Plame was obviously never undercover to begin with?

It looks like Putz has become one of their "fans" only now that Michael Hayden has announced that we've killed some terrorists, doesn't it?

Anyway, as far as the substance of what Hayden said: is a terrorist body count really a reasonable metric for success in this campaign against violent Islamic extremism? Isn't this only half the picture, the other half being, how many terrorists are being recruited? Rummy thinks so:
Today, we lack metrics to know if we are winning or losing the global war on terror. Are we capturing, killing or deterring and dissuading more terrorists every day than the madrassas and the radical clerics are recruiting, training and deploying against us?---Donald Rumsfeld 10/16/2003
Poor Putz. He just can't help himself celebrate the appearance of good news, even if it makes him look like a hypocrite, and even if it's debatable if its really good news at all.
